A few weeks ago a lovely couple from Townsville came past my studio on the off chance that I was there!

The lovely lady, Leigh, was specifically looking for a painting featuring wrens.  At that time I didn’t have any wren paintings available and mentioned to her that I could always paint a commission for her.

She loved this idea and as they were about to head down to the Great Ocean Road to do the Great Ocean Walk she wondered if some of her photos from that walk could perhaps feature in the background of a “Wren Painting”!  And that’s exactly what came about – Leigh sent me some pictures of the scenery along the Great Ocean Walk and then I went to work on the commission.  She even had some photos of wrens in the foreground of that very scenery.  She was so thrilled to have seen the little wrens and so, as we say, there was nothing more to do, but fulfil her ideas in the commission.

And last week it flew up to Townsville to be with its new owners.
